Ohio State lists QBs Braxton Miller, Kenny Guiton as co-starters

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Urban Meyer is holding off on an official decision on his starting quarterback, and right now the Ohio State coach has bracketed his top options together on his latest depth chart.

After missing his last two starts and almost all of the previous game with a sprained knee, Braxton Miller is slated to return to the lineup on Saturday against No. 23 Wisconsin in a critical Big Ten opener at Ohio Stadium. The fifth-place finisher in last year’s race for the Heisman Trophy is also expected to slide back into the starting lineup, though Meyer is still evaluating how he practices this week and is comfortable enough with his backup that he currently lists his starter as Miller “or” Kenny Guiton.

“Those decisions will be made later in the week,” Meyer said during the Big Ten teleconference on Tuesday. “I think if [Miller] has a great week of practice, he will [start]. I don’t want to name him a starter yet, because I don’t know.

“I want to make sure I’m doing right by Kenny Guiton, so it’s more complicated than that.”
