Ohio State Covers Vegas Line with Miracle Final-Play TD

Put this one in the hall of fame of Las Vegas “bad beats” if such a thing exists. If it doesn’t, it should now.
If you were “invested” in Northwestern, I am genuinely surprised you’re able to read this on your computer or smart phone and didn’t destroy it in the frenzy. That’s discipline right there. Kudos.

Ohio State closed as a seven-point favorite over Northwestern, and this number looked safe for those who backed the Wildcats with time expiring. No big deal. Run a play, maybe turn it over or maybe get tackled as time expires, right?

Not so fast, my friend.

With one final desperation play, Northwestern did the familiar toss-the-ball-around-until-this-eventually-ends scramble. The problem—and perhaps this was far from it depending on which side you were on—was Northwestern’s final lateral went astray and Ohio State jumped on it in the end zone.

With that, Ohio State increased its victory margin to 10 and also secured the cover.

Make no mistake about it, this was carnage. Not just for the masses ripping their Northwestern tickets in unison, but also for Las Vegas.

According to RJ Bell of Pregame.com, the majority of the bets on Saturday night’s game had “Ohio State” printed on the bottom. That’s good news for the masses and bad news for the sportsbooks that were already counting their winnings.
