Was Ohio State’s Win over Indiana Enough to Impress Pollsters?

With four teams currently undefeated and atop the BCS standings, everything a team does gets put under the microscope. However, no team is more under the microscope than the Ohio State Buckeyes are.

Ohio State took care of business on Saturday against Indiana, winning 42-14, but the big-picture question is, was the result enough to move voters, or was it just another ho-hum Big Ten win?

That’s the scenario the Buckeyes are likely to face the rest of the way, unless one of the other unbeatens at the top falter.

Indiana’s defense isn’t very good, but with that said, what Braxton Miller and the Buckeyes did put on film Saturday has to make some pollsters think again about where OSU stands.

Miller went over the 100-yard rushing mark for the second straight game on the ground, going for 144 yards and two touchdowns. He added another 160 yards on 11-of-17 passing and two more touchdowns through the air.

Add it up and Miller had 304 total yards and four touchdowns. That type of performance will make people take notice of you and thus your team.

The Buckeyes offense got some help from the Hoosiers defense, but Miller and Hyde made it look effortless. Miller’s first touchdown run from 37 yards out is a great example of just how effortless it was for Ohio State.

Miller also made it look completely effortless in his final touchdown, hitting Devin Smith from 39 yards out to make it an even 42-0.
