Citing injuries, Ohio State C Chad Lindsay steps away from football

No. 22 Ohio State struggled – mightily – to block No. 17 Virginia Tech in its 35-21 loss to the Hokies at the Horseshoe on Saturday night. And now a struggling offensive line has lost one of its reinforcements.

In a message sent to the media on Monday evening, Buckeyes senior offensive lineman Chad Lindsay announced he will step away from football, citing injury concerns.

“As most of you know, I sustained a serious injury during fall camp and, unfortunately, was re-injured last week,” Lindsay said. “As a result, and after careful consideration, I have determined that it is time for me to walk away from football.

“I have had a great career and I will always be grateful for so many wonderful experiences. I would like to thank Coach Meyer, the coaching staff, players and trainers as it has been an honor to be a part of The Ohio State University football family. I wish the team great success for the remainder of the season. Go Buckeyes!”
