But he will be wearing one on Saturday night in support of the fight against Duchenne muscular dystrophy when Ohio State plays host to Cincinnati. “He and coaches nationwide will wear ‘Coach to Cure MD’ logos in an effort to help raise awareness of, and funds to fight, the affliction, a genetic disorder usually diagnosed during childhood and primarily affecting boys across all races and cultures. Joining Meyer will be two local half-brothers, Jacob Jarvis, 14, and Noah Studebaker, 7, who have Duchenne MD and have been fixtures at OSU practices this year. “‘I have become close with two members of our team, I consider them, Noah and Jacob, who are stricken with this disease, and we love them to death,’ Meyer said yesterday. ‘So we’re going to do some special things for those guys this week, and I ask for everybody to get involved. “‘There are so many great things to get involved in, but this hit home…I never knew really very much about the disease, and I do now.’ On the field, the Buckeyes are eager to square off against their in-state oppoonents, the Bearcats, who are seeking to be the first Ohio team to beat Ohio State in 93 years, writes May’s colleague at The Columbus Dispatch, Bill Rabinowitz: “But Saturday night’s game doesn’t need those emotional attachments to make it a big one. The Bearcats are good enough to have a realistic chance to become the first in-state team since 1921 to beat the Buckeyes. “‘They would probably party all week in Cincinnati,’ said Ohio State defensive tackle Adolphus Washington, a Cincinnati native.  “Although the Bearcats aren’t a so-called Power Five conference school, Meyer said that they’re ‘absolutely’ as good as many that are.
