The Most Underrated Quarterback In College Football: Ohio State’s J.T. Barrett

When have you heard of a third-string quarterback becoming one of the best in the country in the same season? So it is with a little known J.T. Barrett of The Ohio State Buckeyes. He is the “who-knew?” replacement for preseason All American and reigning Big Ten Player of the Year Braxton Miller. The Barrett maturation is unmatched among any top level conference quarterback. Barrett started the season like an obvious “I don’t belong here yet” quarterback. He had 3 interceptions and had a performance fit to be pitied in a loss to Virginia Tech. But each game he grew in confidence and efficiency. So much so he had 500 passing yards in the last two games. That includes a scintillating performance in the drubbing of the favored and then 8th ranked Michigan State Spartans. As assurance that he is not a fluke, Barrett followed those games with this most recent game against 25th ranked Minnesota. He was record-setting in a win. …
