Penn State-Ohio State rivalry closer to home for Lady Lions’ Jaylen Williams

Jaylen Williams thought she was just along for the ride. Then a heavily recruited high school sophomore, Williams joined her parents as they dropped her older brother, Camren, off at Ohio State for his freshman year. Camren was set to begin his football career with the Buckeyes. But she came home with a new opportunity. Williams received an impromptu offer from the Ohio State women’s basketball program when touring the Buckeyes’ basketball facility. The Braintree, Massachusetts native comes from a long line of athletes that extends further than her brother, now a junior linebacker on the No. 7 Buckeyes. Her father, Brent, played in the NFL for 11 seasons and her eldest brother, Brennan, was drafted in 2013 by the Houston Texans. Despite briefly considering Ohio State during that trip to Columbus in 2012, Williams verbally committed to Penn State later that summer. The 6-foot-3-inch forward made firm her commitment to the Lady Lions’ program last week when she signed her letter of intent on National Signing Day. Have we met before?
