COLUMBUS, Ohio — Seven thoughts on Ohio State and the Big Ten after the first two days of the NFL Draft and looking ahead to rounds four through seven on Saturday. The fourth round will begin at noon.

1. Projected by many draft analysts as a second- or third-round pick, Ohio State defensive tackle Michael Bennett is still available as the draft hits rounds four through seven on Saturday.

With 99 picks taken, it’s a little surprising he’s still around. Mike Mayock of the NFL Network had Bennett ranked as his No. 80 prospect before the draft. NFLDraftScout.com ranked Bennett as the No. 67 prospect.

Bennett’s slide is reminding me a little of what happened with former Ohio State center Mike Brewster in the 2012 NFL Draft, when he wound up going undrafted. Both were good smart college players who weren’t huge linemen.

Bennett certainly will be drafted Saturday at some point, but his injuries during the workout season before the draft apparently hurt him. He still seems like a player who could be a very solid pro. And he didn’t seem wrapped up in his status after the third round ended Friday night.
