CHICAGO, Ill. When Bolingbrook (Ill.) linebacker Tuf Borland committed to Ohio State on his April 17 visit with the Buckeyes it caught many by surprise.
“Going into the visit I kind of had two favorites, Ohio State and Wisconsin,” Borland told 247Sports Director of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong at The Opening Regional. “Just going over there again I got to see the academics and the social side of things. It’s really balanced with football, academics, socially, it was a place I wanted to be part of.”
Ohio State co-defensive coordinators Chris Ash and Luke Fickell recruited Borland for the Buckeyes.
“Those guys are great,” Borland said. “They came in pretty early, I got to know them pretty well, and I love those guys.”
