Some could wind up playing in the NFL for 10 years, some might be cut tomorrow and – maybe – one might develop into a Hall of Fame player. If that last line sounds like an impossibility, then it’s #B1GFridayFive to the rescue with a history lesson. Keeping with theme of the #B1GFridayFive, we’re looking this week at the best undrafted free agents in Big Ten history. So, sorry Nebraska fans, that means we left out Hall of Fame center Mick Tingelhoff, who went undrafted in 1962, well before Nebraska joined the B1G. (But he still deserves a shout-out.) Indiana TE/DT Kris Dielman, 2003 The San Diego Chargers picked him up in 2003 for a signing bonus of just $7,500 as an unwanted, undrafted free agent. He left nine seasons later as an eight-figure millionaire and four-time Pro Bowl offensive guard. The Chargers initially invited him as a defensive lineman but changed their minds and switched him to the offensive line. He struggled at first and they cut him after training camp — but kept him on the practice roster. That turned out to be a good decision for Chargers offensive coordinator Cam Cameron, a former Hoosiers coach. By Year 3, Dielman had risen to become a regular starter. And, by Year 5, had become a Pro Bowl regular. He was forced to retire in 2012 because of concussions, but he was still a solid offensive lineman…
