How much did Ohio State make from Rolling Stones show?

Last week The Rolling Stones wowed the city of Columbus with a rocking performance. The performance also earned the Ohio State University an estimated $600,000, according to Xen Riggs, Ohio State’s associate vice president of university and business advancement. The Rolling Stones performed at the university’s Ohio Stadium, which was the first concert hosted in the stadium in 12 years. More from Columbus Business Journals: “It went extremely well,” he told me. “The band and the promoter were thrilled, the promoter called me twice on Sunday.” Riggs said Ohio State officials did not know what to expect heading into the show and only by Wednesday did a clearer financial picture emerge. “What you have to remember is, the ‘show’ didn’t end until Tuesday, with labor bills,” he said. “(Profit) is probably north of $600,000. I don’t know if I was expecting (any amount) in particular, (but) we’re very happy. That’s probably the range we would hope for.” The stadium is scheduled to host Buckeye Country Superfest in late June and One Direction in August. The Rolling Stones will perform in Ohio Stadium tonight. More than 60,000 fans are expected to attend. pic.twitter.com/HAf2ROv5TT — The Buckeye Nut (@TheBuckeyeNut) May 30, 2015
