Updated JUN 12, 2015 11:23p ET Ohio State’s 2015 recruiting class will have one less lineman than expected as Mirko Jurkovic Jr. reportedly will not enroll for summer classes with the rest of the Buckeyes’ newest football signees. The Columbus Dispatch first reported the news, attributing the development to an academic issue. A three-star recruit from South Bend, Ind., who most recently attended IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., Jurkovic was one of six offensive linemen to sign with Ohio State this past winter. The big class was viewed as a necessity after the previous two were lighter on offensive linemen than coach Urban Meyer would have preferred. The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported Friday the Ohio State staff had been aware of Jurkovic’s academic issue since before he even signed a national letter of intent in February and was not planning to have him on the roster this fall, though he could still be a Buckeye in the future. He is the second 2015 recruit who won’t be part of the 2015 Buckeyes, joining Cocoa, Fla., defensive back Jamel Dean, who enrolled in classes in January but was not medically cleared to practice because of lingering effects of a knee injury.
