Ohio State players slip in Heisman Trophy odds

One of the dumbest projections in the college football preseason is the Heisman Trophy race. Bovada released its Heisman Trophy odds, and despite not playing a down of football since the last odds were released, several members of the Ohio State Buckeyes’ odds have gotten worse. Back on January 30, when the last projections were released, Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott was the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy for the 2015 season, with a 6/1 odds of winning college football’s highest honor. Now his odds have dipped to 7/1, while TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin’s odds have increased to 15/2. All three Ohio State quarterbacks have high odds of winning the Heisman Trophy, despite only one being able to be the starter. We don’t even know who is going to be the starting quarterback next season, but all three appear on Bovada’s list. According to the odds, Braxton Miller is not only the most likely to land the starting job, but he is third likeliest to win the Heisman. Again these odds are really dumb since it’s all speculation, but now  Miller has had a pretty big increase in his chances to win the Heisman, as he went from 18/1 odds back in January to 10/1 odds. Cardale Jones, who was the previous leader for the Buckeyes at 14/1 odds back in January, has dropped to 20/1 odds. J.T. Barrett’s odds have fallen since January as well…
