Greg Bartram-USA TODAY Sports After a summer where many speculated that he could transfer, Braxton Miller put those rumors to rest. After Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller tore his labrum before the season, Ohio State’s shot at the first ever college football playoff appeared to be shot. Instead, backup quarterback J.T. Barrett, and then later Cardale Jones, filled in and led an explosive Buckeye offensive all the way to the national championship. As soon as the confetti finished falling, though, the spotlight turned right back to Miller, who graduated in June, and could thus transfer to another program without having to sit out a year. Today, Miller put any potential transfer rumors to rest. While speaking to Tim May of The Columbus Dispatch, Miller confirmed that he would be returning to the Buckeyes, saying, “This is where I started and this is where I’m going to finish it.” Miller did acknowledge that, “Schools reached out, they reached out hard,” and over the offseason, Miller was linked to Alabama, Florida State, Duke, Oregon and others as a potential candidate. However, those closest to Miller, like Ohio State AD Gene Smith, Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer, and Braxton’s father, all said they expected Miller to return to Columbus. This was the first time Miller has spoken publicly, however. Miller joins a crowded depth chart at Ohio State, but isn’t without his own accolades. The two time Big Ten offensive player of the year has thrown for over 5,000 yards and 52 touchdowns during his three years at the helm for the Buckeyes, while completing 63.5 percent of his passes during his junior season. He’ll be fighting for the starting job against Barrett, who finished fifth in Heisman voting last season, and Jones, who piloted Ohio State to three straight upsets en route to a national title…
