Updated JUL 09, 2015 4:01p ET Nearly a year after shoulder surgery caused him to miss the 2014 season, Braxton Miller broke his silence, telling the Columbus Dispatch in a story published Thursday he will be at Ohio State this fall — as a quarterback. That means taking on the two teammates who combined to lead the Buckeyes to the national championship in his absence, J.T. Barrett and Cardale Jones. “Strength-wise, I’m solid,” Miller told the Dispatch. “I’m doing all types of exercises all the other (players on the team) are doing. I don’t have any pain, or aches, or anything like that. “The only reason why they say I’m not 100 percent yet is a little bit (because of) the rotation in my right arm. But that’s going to come, by throwing the ball every day. That comes with repetition. Other than that, I’m healthy.” Miller’s statements come after months of speculation about his recovery from surgery that was performed last August and numerous rumors about whether or not he would transfer to another school for his final season of eligibility. Despite the din from the outside, many around Miller stated publicly they expected him to return. That group included his father, Kevin, and his coach at Huber Heights Wayne High School, Jay Minton. Barrett, OSU director of athletics Gene Smith, head coach Urban Meyer and offensive coordinator Tim Beck all said they expected Miller to return as well. Whatever doubts might have remained have been removed. “I’m from Ohio, this is my home state,” Miller told the Dispatch. “This is where I started and this is where I’m going to finish it.” (H/T Columbus Dispatch)
