2014 Record: 14-1, (8-0) – 1st Big Ten East – National Champions (Defeated Alabama in Sugar Bowl and Oregon in College Football Playoff National Championship Game) 2015 Outlook: Ever since a head-scratching loss to Virginia Tech in the second week of the 2014 season the Buckeyes have been on a roll. After winning last year’s national title they don’t appear to be slowing down heading into this season. Joey Bosa is a pre-season All-American at defensive end and running back Ezekiel Elliott is highly regarded as a Heisman Trophy candidate. Three really good quarterbacks, Braxton Miller, J.T. Barrett and Cardale Jones will battle for the starting job and the defensive secondary is poised to have another solid season. There aren’t many weak points in this Ohio State team and it’s a squad that’s capable of running the table and winning a second-straight national title. With a future Hall of Fame head coach in Urban Meyer, this is a team that has no limits. Key Offensive Player: Ezekiel Elliott – RB Elliott’s unpredictable postseason run that helped the Buckeyes clinch their eighth national title has catapulted him to the top of the Heisman race heading into the season. He’ll also be the rock for Ohio State’s lethal offense. The running back’s ability to break into the open field and power through tacklers will open up Ohio State’s passing game for whoever is named the starter come early September. Elliott finished the year with over 1,400 yards on the ground with 696 of those coming in the postseason.
