Ronda Rousey Takes Shot At Floyd Mayweather, Jr. In 2015 ESPYS – I4U News

UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey referred to Floyd Mayweather, Jr.’s past domestic violence history after she beat him for the “Best Fighter of the Year” award in the 2015 ESPYS on July 15. She said, “I wonder how Floyd feels being beat by a woman for once.” Ronda Rousey just couldn’t resist taking a stab at Floyd Mayweather, Jr. at the 2015 ESPYS on July 15.  The defending UFC women’s bantamweight champion referred to Mayweather’s past domestic violence history when she was interviewed for winning the ESPYS’ “Fighter of the Year” award on July 15, per FOX Sports’ Damon Martin: “I wonder how Floyd feels being beat by a woman for once,” Rousey said. “I’d like to see you pretend to not know who I am now.”  Accorting to Martin, this is not the first time Rousey has taken a shot at Mayweather.  “I would never say that I can’t beat anyone,” she told “Access Hollywood” (via FOX Sports) in May. “I don’t think me and him would ever fight unless we ended up dating.”  Mayweather has been previously charged with six charges of domestic violence. He also spent two months in prison three years ago, per Yahoo! Sports’ Ryan McKinnell.  Rousey also edged Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, Terence Crawford and Gennady Golovkin for the ESPYS’ “Fighter of the Year” award, per Martin.  Rousey is currently training for her upcoming fight against undefeated Bethe Correia at UFC 190 in Brazil on Aug. 1, per FOX Sports.  In another development, Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Cardale Jones asked Rousey out on Twitter. He also confessed to being scared of Rousey at the same time.[embedded content] Jones was a nominee for the ESPYS’ breakthrough athlete award on Wednesday. However, pitcher Mo’ne Davis was declared the winner, per The Columbus Dispatch’s Tim May.  The Buckeyes quarterbck was one of several Ohio State athletes nominated at the ESPYS on July 15.  Wrestler Logan Stieber, a four-time NCAA individual national titlist, was a nominee for the Best Male College Athlete award, but Oregon Ducks (now Tennessee Titans) quarterback Marcus Mariota prevailed, per May. Buckeyes head football coach Urban Meyer was one of the finalists for the Best Coach/Manager award which went to Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr instead, per The Columbus Dispatch.  The Buckeyes’ football team was also considered for the Outstanding Team award. …
