Ohio State’s Braxton Miller switching from quarterback to receiver

Ohio State’s Braxton Miller is switching positions and will start the season as an H-back, according to Sports Illustrated’s Pete Thamel. Miller has reportedly been planning on changing positions from quarterback for some time now, but kept things quiet while he was still recovering from a shoulder injury. “For the most part, it’s going to be H-Back and punt return,” Miller said in a phone interview on Thursday night. “It’s a long process to get back totally to throwing and throwing every day. This is the smarter thing for right now, God blessed me with a lot of talent and different opportunities. I’m going to have fun with that and still score a lot of touchdowns and help the team out and be dominant at that.” There were plenty of rumors that Miller might not play at Ohio State in 2015, with several high-level programs looking for a replacement at quarterback, particularly Florida State and Oregon. However, Miller decided to stick with the Buckeyes, despite the emergence of J.T. Barrett and Cardale Jones during his season on the shelf in 2014. All three quarterbacks could start for most teams in the country, and Miller electing to move positions allows Ohio State to keep more talent on the field and show teams lots of different looks. …
