Ohio State QB Braxton Miller Planning To Change Positions This Season – Ledger Gazette

“It’s going to be a matter of how quickly he grows into the position, but the sky is the limit for him”. He said he has been working up to four hours a day on the transition to wide receiver, watching film and catching passes from J.T. Barrett, the quarterback who replaced him the first 12 games of last season. But things really got comical earlier this month when Meyer opted to take two of the quarterbacks – Miller and post-season hero Cardale Jones – to the ESPY Award ceremonies in Los Angeles and not the third, 2014 Heisman finalist J.T. Barrett. Because while Miller proved to be one of the most dynamic players in all of college football in his three seasons as the Buckeyes’ starting signal-caller from 2011-2013, he was never viewed by scouts as an NFL-caliber passer. However, Miller is staying, and he is saying that he will move to a running back/wide receiver position. As a QB, Miller would have entered training camp just one of three players all desiring the same position and his throwing shoulder may have prevented him from competing at full strength. These are the questions that will need to be answered before Miller’s potential as an NFL player is ultimately determined. It would have been fun to see Braxton Miller run wild out on the field for Bama, but if he can’t hold up playing Northwestern, Rutgers, Indiana, Illinois, Purdue, Maryland, and Iowa then what chance would he have of lasting against real football teams? Miller, in next year’s draft, just got a whole bunch richer, too. Be proactive – Use the “Flag as Inappropriate” link at the upper right corner of each comment to let us know of abusive posts…
