On college campuses all across the country, the sounds of shoulder pads cracking, helmets popping, and whistles blowing are serenading the surrounding landscape. Yes, let’s sound the trumpets, ladies and gentleman … college football is upon us! Fall camp is here! Teams throughout this great nation are embarking on a journey this week with hopes of a postseason bowl berth in their futures. Perhaps even a New Year’s Eve trip to Dallas or Miami for the College Football Playoff, with an ultimate prize of a January date in Arizona for the title. Of course, those latter destinations are only realistic for a select few, and I am here to identify who those teams are, as well as some other prognostications involving everything college football. The Tigers finished the season with a beatdown of Oklahoma in the Russell Athletic Bowl, and have eight starters returning this fall on the offensive side of the football, including budding star quarterback Deshaun Watson. Although they have to replace seven starters from the best defense in the nation from a year ago, I still see enough talent on the roster to possibly go through the conference schedule unbeaten.
