Executioners: How Ohio State’s offense, blocking create big runs

Ohio State came into the opener on the road against Virginia Tech with the highest expectations in the country. The Buckeyes were the unanimous No. 1 team in the country and have a glutton of talent on both sides of the ball. Looking impressive is a near impossible task for the Buckeyes with the expectations being that they will roll through their schedule without the other team sniffing them. In the first half, after a scalding hot start to get up 14-0, the Buckeyes looked downright average. However, in the second half they dominated thanks to great pressure on the quarterback from the defense and creating big plays on offense. We’re going to break down three of the Buckeyes’ biggest plays from the second half. Great for Buckeyes, not Hokies’ Brewer: We start with the defense knocking Virginia Tech starting quarterback Michael Brewer out of the game with a beautifully designed blitz that they executed perfectly to confuse the Virginia Tech offensive line.
