Virginia Tech Football: Three takeaways from loss to Ohio State

Mandatory Credit: Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports The Virginia Tech football team suffered a tough loss to the reigning national champion Ohio State Buckeyes on Monday night. Here are some takeaways from the game. The long awaited opening game of the 2015 season happened on Monday night. The result was not what Hokie Nation wanted, but was what some might have expected. The Buckeyes from Ohio State came into Lane Stadium and handled their business like a defending national champion should. Virginia Tech fought hard, but was simply outgunned in the 42-24 loss to Ohio State. There was some personnel costs as well. However, the Hokies did not just lay down and allow Ohio State to run all over them, well at some points in the game it did seem like the Buckeyes were doing whatever they wanted offensively. The Hokies do have something to build on, and the fact that it was a non-conference loss doesn’t eliminate all hope for the season After watching the game live, attempting to sleep away all my disappointment, and then re-watching parts of the game I was able to find a few good parts and narrow down the bad and ugly parts of the game.
