In a game where the offense was plagued by an inability to consistently move the football, the Buckeyes (2-0) leaned on the defense, and they responded by forcing four turnovers, which turned in 17 points in the victory, their nation-leading 15thstraight win. “I thought they played great,” Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer said of the defense. “They created turnovers. We scored on defense. Short field a couple times, so we’ve got a lot of work to do in some other areas.” The Buckeyes’ defense kept the Hawaii at bay and out of the end zone, and midway through the fourth quarter, they punctuated their stout effort with a fumble return for a touchdown that made it a 31-0 game. After Hawaii quarterback Max Wittek was sacked on first down, the Rainbow Warriors faced a second-and-12 from their own 26-yard line. Wittek took the shotgun snap and rolled to his right, but was stripped of the football. A pile of players from both teams attempted to corral the loose ball before linebacker Darron Lee initially scooped it up and ran down the field. Lee also lost a handle on the football, but safety Vonn Bell picked up the fumble and sprinted 14 yards for the touchdown…
