Ohio State notes: Buckeyes looking forward to full week of practice

COLUMBUS — How much difference does two days make? A few members of the Ohio State football team would contend two days make a big difference. A week ago, the Buckeyes opened their season with a Labor Day win over Virginia Tech. Five days later, they were back on the field for their second game of the season, which came in the form of a 38-0 win that wasn’t as crisp as they would have liked. Advertisement Coach Urban Meyer said all along the short week was not a valid excuse for his team’s showing against Hawaii. But the Ashtabula native did breathe a little sigh of relief on Sept. 14 to have normalcy return to his program. Top-ranked Ohio State (2-0) has a regular week of preparation for a Sept. 19 game against visiting Northern Illinois. “I will say this,” Meyer said. “It’s good to be in a routine.
