The Northern Illinois Huskies got on the board in a hurry against Ohio State and it was all set up by an interception of Cardale Jones. In an ugly opening sequence, the Buckeyes were flagged for illegal motion, then Jones tossed an incompletion, Ezekiel Elliott was stopped at the line for no yards, and then on 3rd-and-10 Jones was picked off by Shawun Lurry. With excellent field position (Ohio State’s 22-yard line) it took only three plays for the Huskies to punch it in. Following a 15-yard Drew Hare rush on second down, Aregeros Turner found pay dirt on 1st-and-goal. The Buckeyes’ next series was hardly any better. Opting to go for it on 4th-and-1, Elliott was stripped of the ball and NIU recovered. Ohio State has been nearly flawless thus far this season, however if there’s one nitpick it can be that they’ve started each of their games sluggishly. Saturday was no exception.
