Urban Meyer: It could be time for Ohio State to pick a QB

After Ohio State’s 20–13 win over Northern Illinois Saturday, head coach Urban Meyer admitted it could be time for the Buckeyes to settle on a quarterback. After the second straight game in which starter Cardale Jones struggled and was replaced by J.T. Barrett, Meyer fielded more questions about his handling of the quarterback situation and acknowledged he was thinking about firming up and going with just one. “There might be some truth to that,” Meyer told reporters after the game. “Not that I’m going to call some armchair [analysts] and ask them what they think, but I do believe in game reps. That’s how players get better, and that’s something that I’m going to spend a lot of time thinking about.” Barrett took over after Jones’s second interception of the game and played the entire second half. In last week’s game against Hawaii, Jones was taken out and re-entered after halftime. Meyer wouldn’t give either player any type of edge in the discussion, but said he did not know who would start next week against Western Michigan. • Ohio State suspends cornerback Damon Webb Cardale Jones changes Twitter bio after being benched Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Cardale Jones made changes to his Twitter bio after being benched during a lackluster game in which the Buckeyes barely beat Northern Illinois 20-13. ? – Jeremy Woo
