Penn State football podcast: PSU-Ohio State preview and predictions

Penn State is approaching its week of preparation for No. 1 Ohio State freely and easily, with much of the pressure on the unbeaten Buckeyes’ shoulders. The Nittany Lions also have a level of confidence after pushing Ohio State to its limits in a 31-24 overtime loss at Beaver Stadium last season. That was a defining moment for a Buckeyes team that got a full head of steam on its way to winning the national championship. While unbeaten at 6-0, Urban Meyer’s team is still looking for a complete performance from all three phases. Ohio State trailed at the half against Virginia Tech, squeezed past Northern Illinois and Indiana and was tied with Maryland midway through the third quarter of a 49-28 win last week. The Buckeyes are well-positioned to make another national title run but still have plenty of room to improve, particularly on a turnover-prone offense. Ohio State ranks No. 65 nationally in passing offense (230.0 ypg), No. 82 in red-zone offense (.818) and No. 87 in third-down conversions (.364) but is still averaging 36.8 points per game, 17th-most in the country…
