Buckeyes linebacker Joshua Perry honored at OHS for off-the-field work

Ohio State linebacker Joshua Perry received a pleasant surprise this afternoon (Oct. 30) when he returned to Olentangy High School.Perry, an OHS graduate, was told school officials wanted him to attend a pep rally for the Braves football team. Instead, students watched as he was named to the 2015 Allstate American Football Coaches Association Good Works Team. Perry is one of 22 college football players in the nation who earned a spot on the honorary team through their positive work in their communities. He was recognized for supporting the Be Brave Foundation, which provides assistance to families of children who are battling cancer, along with other charitable endeavors. Perry told students gathered at Olentangy’s stadium that he learned how to be successful on and off the field while he was in school. “If I could say one thing it would be to really cherish this community,” he said. “Cherish all the opportunities here.” Read the full story in the Nov. 5 edition of ThisWeek.
