Ohio State Football suspends JT Barrett after OVI

Ohio State Sophmore quarterback J.T. Barrett has been suspended for one game after being arrested early Saturday morning on an OVI charge. Barrett was reportedly spotted trying to avoid an OVI checkpoint and a breathalyzer test showed that he was far above Ohio’s legal limit. The Columbus Dispatch is reporting that the 20-year old Barrett had a blood alcohol content of 0.099, exceeding Ohio’s limit of .08 and far above the under-21 cut off of .02. Barrett was detained and then released to friend and teammate Cardale Jones. Rather than time in jail, Barrett was cited and will have to appear in court for the misdemeanor offense.
