Those words could carry a little extra weight as they come from Joe Bolden, a senior linebacker who happens to have grown up in Cincinnati. “Rooting for Ohio State is a very bad, I would say, not a very good phrase. Obviously, we want to get to the Big Ten championship and for them to win that game (against MSU) here in a couple weeks would be awesome, but at the same time, I don’t really care what happens there. All we care about is Saturday. We can’t get there without continuously winning.“ Another Ohio native, defensive lineman Taco Charlton from Pickerington, stressed maintaining focus on the more immediate tasks at hand, too. “Root for Ohio State?,” Charlton said. “I don’t know if we can go that far with it.” Of course if the Wolverines slip up this week against Indiana or next week against Penn State it becomes academic.
