If the season ended today, Alabama would get a chance at revenge. Based on the current College Football Playoff rankings, the No. 2 Tide would play No. 3 Ohio State in the Playoff semifinals after losing to the eventual national champion Buckeyes in last season’s semifinals. Alabama is around a touchdown favorite heading into Saturday’s game at No. 17 Mississippi State. The Tide will surely be even bigger favorites in its final two regular season games against Charleston Southern and Auburn. Should Alabama win each of those three games, it would also likely be a decent-sized favorite over SEC East champion Florida in the SEC championship game.
