Tristen Wallace, Ohio State Buckeyes elite QB commit, visiting Oregon Ducks this weekend

Ohio State quarterback pledge Tristen Wallace has been committed to the Buckeyes since April, but with news that the program is in pursuit of four-star prospect Dwayne Haskins, it appears that relationship has cooled. That’s potentially huge news for the Oregon Ducks, as current commits have confirmed reports from 247Sports and others that the nation’s No. 4 dual-threat quarterback will be in Eugene this weekend.  He is also set to check out UCLA. LA Wassup!!! ???? — T.Wall (@Official_Wall5) December 11, 2015 As a senior, Wallace threw for 2,167 yards with 12 touchdowns and eight interceptions, adding 1,478 yards and 16 scores on the ground. The running ability, in particular, has some speculating that Wallace may develop into a multi-purpose-type prospect at the college level, and he is listed as the nation’s No. 7 athlete by Scout. The 6-foot-3, 230-pound talent, out of DeSoto High School (Texas), holds offers from Baylor, Louisville, Nebraska, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M and many others. But none of that mattered until recently, as Wallace appeared set on a future in Columbus until the Buckeyes began looking at other options. Since then, the relationship has cooled. According to Cleveland.com, “all signs are pointing to changing times from both the Buckeyes and Wallace.” Could Ohio State’s loss soon become Oregon’s gain?  If Wallace is truly shying away from Ohio State because of a quarterback competition, he won’t find the landing spot much softer at Oregon.  The Ducks already have commitments from ESPN four-star quarterback Terry Wilson and three-star talent Justin Herbert and are also hosting Montana State graduate transfer Dakota Prukop this weekend. …
