Ohio St. loaded with weapons offensively

Notre Dame’s defense will have a tough test against Ohio State’s offense come New Year’s Day in the Fiesta Bowl. The Buckeyes have one of the better running games in the country behind quarterback J.T. Barrett and running back Ezekiel Elliot. Elliott has rushed for 1,672 yards and 19 rushing touchdowns this season. Barrett is second on the team with 586 yards and 11 rushing touchdowns. But if the Irish are going to succeed against the 12th best rushing attack in college football, they’ll need to do more than stop Elliott and Barrett. “They have so many weapons so it’s just a list of names that can create explosive plays at any given moment,” said Notre Dame linebacker Jaylon Smith. “I think that’s going to be the number one thing that stands out. They’re knowledgeable players as well.” The Buckeyes also have a good amount of talent on the outside with Michael Thomas, Jalin Marshall and Braxton Miller, who have combined for 17 total touchdowns this season.
