Report: Ezekiel Elliott cited for traffic incident before leaving for Fiesta Bowl

Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott made the Buckeyes’ team flight to Arizona for the Fiesta Bowl, but not before running into some trouble according to a report.  Craig Calcaterra of NBC Sports reported Monday morning being told by a Columbus Police Dept. source Elliott was in a car crash in Columbus and received a citation Sunday.  true Source tells me that OSU RB Ezekiel Elliott was cited in a car crash in Columbus yesterday before leaving with the team for Arizona. — Craig Calcaterra (@craigcalcaterra) December 28, 2015 Columbus Police confirmed his name to me in a report for a “car crash” but tell me the report “is not ready yet.” Should be later this AM. — Craig Calcaterra (@craigcalcaterra) December 28, 2015 Tipster tells me Elliott was cited for driving on a suspended license. Police would not confirm. Referred me to the report when ready. — Craig Calcaterra (@craigcalcaterra) December 28, 2015 Calcaterra confirmed with police an incident involving Elliott occurred and that a report is forthcoming.  Franklin County municipal court records showed nothing new Monday morning, but Elliott was cited for speeding near campus in the summer of 2014 but later had the charges dismissed after he completed a diversion program.  Per reporters on the scene in Arizona, where Ohio State is set to face Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl on Friday, Elliott did arrive with the team Sunday.  A school spokesperson confirmed to FOX Sports the incident will not affect Elliott’s playing status.
