There’s no need to mention the fact that when the Spartans take the field this Thursday against the Crimson Tide, No. 89 will be a major reason they are there, and will be a major reason they have a shot to win. There is no reason to mention the above because, well, you already know that, and if you didn’t, let me introduce to you Mr. Shilique Calhoun. He’s become, probably right beside Connor Cook, the most noticeable face of the program as far as players go, and yes, he is a captain. Now that’s no easy feat for a defensive end, so how has Calhoun done it? Shilique has constantly improved in each of his three seasons starting for the Green and White, which is almost an underrated part of his rise to super-stardom among college football’s best defenders.
