Published: Wednesday, 2/3/2016 Buckeyes set to sign class among best in nation BY DAVID BRIGGSBLADE SPORTS WRITER COLUMBUS — The race for No. 1 is on.  As fax machines nationwide eagerly awaited their once-a-year return to glory, Ohio State began signing day this morning in a dead heat for the country’s mythical recruiting championship.  The Buckeyes’ 23-member class is ranked first by Rivals.com and second behind LSU by Scout.com and 247Sports, with one final burst of drama to go.  Ohio State appears set to add two more prospects today: three-star Columbus Walnut Ridge athlete Malik Harrison, and one among a trio of remaining targets. Four-star cornerback Carlos Becker (Kissimmee, Fla.) will decide between Ohio State and Florida State, four-star offensive tackle Malcolm Pridgeon (Central Islip, N.Y., Nassau Community College) is down to OSU and Baylor, and three-star cornerback K’Von Wallace (Highland Springs, Va.) is committed to Cincinnati but made an official visit to Columbus last weekend.  More than anything, the Buckeyes’ class ranking will be determined by the eleventh-hour decisions of blue-chip prospects headed elsewhere.  “It’s a great class.
