Ohio State DL Joey Bosa among players Jaguars are watching

INDIANAPOLIS | You never know, when the Jaguars are on the clock with the fifth overall pick, all of the talk about defense might be a smokescreen and the team might trade down and take Ole Miss receiver Laquon Treadwell or Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott. But in the wake of general manager Dave Caldwell saying the Jaguars plan to “devote a large portion” of their eight picks on defense, most of the focus at this week’s NFL Scouting Combine has been justifiably on that side of the football. And three of the four players the Jaguars should think about taking made their way through the Lucas Oil Stadium media area Friday: Ohio State defensive end Joey Bosa, Oregon defensive lineman DeForest Bucker and UCLA linebacker Myles Jack. Florida State defensive back Jalen Ramsey will meet with reporters Saturday. Bosa (6-foot-5, 269 pounds) was a second-team All-America selection and finished his Buckeyes career with 150 tackles and 26 sacks in 41 games. Buckner (6-7, 291) was also second-team All-America after making 83 tackles and 10.5 sacks. And Jack (6-1, 245) was limited to three games as a junior (knee injury) but had 88 tackles as a sophomore. All three players could be on the board for the Jaguars.
