Ann Arbor Pioneer’s Simmons picks Ohio State

That didn’t prevent Pioneer’s most highly-recruited player from committing to the Wolverines’ No. 1 rival. Pioneer linebacker Antjuan Simmons selected the Buckeyes, he wrote on Twitter on Tuesday. Michigan and Michigan State were among the many top-tier schools to offer Simmons a scholarship. LSU, Oregon, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, UCLA, Arizona and Texas A&M were just a few of the others. “First off I want to thank God for everything he’s blessed me with and I want to thank all of the schools that have taken the time to recruit and offer me a scholarship to play football,” Simmons wrote. “But as you know I can only choose one so I’ll be choosing to commit to The Ohio State University!!” As a junior last season Simmons had 65 tackles, including eight for loss. He was also a running back and rushed for 1,112 yards and 18 touchdowns. He was named to The Detroit News Division 1-2 All-State first team and The News’ All-Metro West team. immons (6-1, 205) is rated a three-star prospect by Scout.com. …
