Ohio State Basketball: NIT provides showcase for Marc Loving

Marc Loving has been on the receiving end of criticism from fans and media alike since he became a starter for Ohio State. The former four-star recruit has certainly had his ups-and-downs since arriving in Columbus, Ohio. In the NIT, Loving has an opportunity to lead his teammates and silence his critics. The biggest gripe most seem to have with Loving has little to do with his actual play. Instead, people point to his demeanor and body language on the court as a sign of poor effort. Russo-USA TODAY Sports D’Angelo Russell might not help Loving’s case. “I started realizing a lot of people didn’t work,” Russell said in an interview with Bleacher Report. “A lot of God-given talent, a lot of athleticism separated ’em, but it wasn’t really work ethic there.” While Russell didn’t mention any names, it should be noted that Ohio State suspended Loving for three games last season for undisclosed reasons. Russell may not have been talking about Loving at all, but it won’t stop some people from speculating.
