Ezekiel Elliott scouting report: Rare blend of skills justifies top-10 draft pick

Thanks to failures of Trent Richardson and C.J. Spiller, NFL teams have grown averse to drafting running backs in the top 10. But that shouldn’t stop them from considering elite talents atop the draft, regardless of their positions. That’s where Ezekiel Elliott fits in. Like Todd Gurley a year ago, it’s hard to pass on a player with All-Pro talent regardless of position or perceived need. While running backs can be found in any round, those that offer elite running talent and immediate three-down contributions are rare throughout the NFL.
