Meet and Greet set for new football coach

Staff Reportsnews@the419.com LIMA – The Lima community is invited to a Meet and Greet with new Lima Senior Football Coach Andre Griffin from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 14, in the high schools commons area. Griffin and his coaching staff will be available to talk with students, parents and community members. There is no set program, just a time for the community to meet and get to know Griffin. The Lima school board hired Griffin in February to replace Mike Fell, who left the district to relocate out of state. Griffin spent the last eight seasons as an assistant football coach at Saginaw Valley State University, where he had experience in coaching both wide receivers and running backs. Griffin spent the previous three seasons on the coaching staff at Capital University, where he also served as running backs coach. Griffin also spent four seasons as a liaison with the National Football League (NFL). He played running back for the Ohio State Buckeyes from 1998 to 2001. His wife is a native of Lima and attended Lima Senior. Appetizers will be served at the event thanks to the generous support of The Met. For information, contact Athletic Director John Zell at 419-996-3051. …
