Will Smith: 1981-2016 Will Smith was shot and killed during an apparent road rage incident in New Orleans on April 9. The former defensive end played college football at Ohio State and was drafted 18th overall by the New Orleans Saints in 2004. He spent his nine-year NFL career with the Saints, helping New Orleans win its first and only Super Bowl title in 2009. Smith retired after the 2012 season.
