FAMILIAR FACES: Seanor ‘competes with the best" at OSU

Nearly two years into her college career, former Jackson lacrosse standout Anna Seanor is still seeing the benefits of what she learned during her high school career – both on and off the field. Seiner, now a sophomore defender for Ohio State, has appeared in six games for the Buckeyes this season and credits the lessons from her time at Jackson with helping her progress both in uniform and in the classroom. “Jackson is such an amazing school that, academically, I felt really prepared coming into college,” Seanor said. “With lacrosse, at Jackson the team trains at 440 Performance and Chad (Short), the trainer there, really prepared me well for college. Ohio State gives you a workout packet and if you follow that, you pretty much get in shape exactly the way they want you to.” Getting into better condition was one area where Seanor had to adjust as a freshman. She arrived in Columbus knowing it would be a bigger challenge physically, but seeing firsthand how demanding the season would be helped her see how important it was to spend more time in the weight room and in conditioning. Time management quickly emerged as the most important skill when it came to succeeding in college for Seanor. With the amount of time lacrosse took out of each week, combined with the academic demands as a business major, she found that relying on the many academic resources and supports the OSU athletic department provides for its athletes was a smart move. “At times it was overwhelming, but our coach and Ohio State in general give athletes so many resources,” Seanor said. “They help with goal management for our career, there are athletic academic advisors and especially for incoming freshman there’s a lot of support.” Anyone who has ever visited the OSU campus for a football game or just to see the sprawling, city-like atmosphere of one of the biggest universities in America knows how massive a setting it is. …
