Barrett took the front-and-center podium, but a few of those microphones split to the right when redshirt freshman Joe Burrow entered the room. Burrow, however, made an impression with 196 passing yards and three touchdowns in leading the Gray team to a 28-17 victory at Ohio Stadium on Saturday. His performance should leave Buckeyes fans feeling easy after the last two seasons. “I didn’t think I knocked one out of the ball park,” Burrow said of his performance. “I thought I played OK.” By that scale, the Buckeyes’ backup plan is an A-OK plan, and the only thing that needs to be figured out is what to call Burrow.
