Why the Chicago Bears should draft Cardale Jones in the middle rounds

The first round of the NFL draft is only a few days away, and the Chicago Bears still sit at the 11th pick in the draft. While much of the media attention has been on the first round, the Chicago Bears could make a good move for their future in a later round. By drafting Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones in the middle rounds, the Chicago Bears will have made a great pick with a ton of upside that could give the Bears a franchise quarterback in the future. Cardale Jones spent much of his Ohio State career as a backup. Originally famous for an ill-advised tweet, Jones finally got his chance on the field after quarterbacks Braxton Miller and JT Barrett got hurt before and during the 2014 season. Jones started his first career game in the Big Ten Championship Game against Wisconsin. Ohio State won the game 59-0 and went on to beat Alabama and Oregon to win the inaugural College Football Playoff National Title with Jones at the helm. Jones has an absolute rocket launcher for an arm, which has earned him the nickname ’12-Guage’. That could remind you of current Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler.
