For some time now we knew that former Ohio State forward Mickey Mitchell has been looking for a new program to transfer too. Today, it was announced that Mitchell has made his decision and that the new program he will be playing for is the University of California – Santa Barbara. Now that Mitchell has officially decided his future, former Ohio State center Daniel Giddens could be the next player to make a decision. He reportedly is on a visit to the University of Alabama. Soon after the Buckeyes’ 2015-16 season, three players decided to transfer, most notably Mitchell and Giddens. Last season’s Men’s Ohio State basketball team was very young and very inconsistent. Due to the number of younger players on the roster (among other reasons), not everyone got to play as much they could have elsewhere or showed the high level of play that was expected. Mitchell appeared in 23 games last season. In those games, he averaged 12.8 minutes, 2 points, 2.8 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game.  More from Factory of Sadness Prior to playing for Ohio State, Mitchell also had issues with the NCAA surrounding his eligibility. Having gone through that seemed to have affected him early once he was cleared.
