Ohio State RB commit Todd Sibley planning host of summer visits

At the end of the 2015 football season, running back Todd Sibley won a state championship for his efforts as a junior and his status as an Ohio State commit was not in question. Now just six months later, Sibley is looking to repeat as state champions this fall, but his future as an Ohio State commit is in jeopardy. What happened in the meantime is the Buckeyes spoke with Sibley to offer him a grayshirt scholarship as opposed to the full ride that he was initially offered. With that notion in mind, Sibley spoke to Today’s U about his offseason, which includes a recent performance at Columbus’ The Opening regional invitational. “It’s been pretty good,” Sibley told Today’s U. “A couple schools have been stopping by. The Opening went really well yesterday. Rivals was fun, and I’m getting ready for a big senior season.” With his trip to The Opening’s qualifying camp fresh in his memory, Sibley described how he performed on the day and opined on why he did not wind up with an invitation to Nike’s top summer camp event. “I thought I did really well, actually,” Sibley said. “I thought I earned an invite to The Opening, but I guess I came up a little short. I know they do further evaluation after camp, so hopefully I’m lucky enough to get one after the next three camps are over. I think my catching went really well. …
