A chorus of boos erupted as NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell took the stage at the league’s draft Thursday night, with the motivation unclear. Due to the level of success he had as a junior, Bosa entered his final year at Ohio State with a large target on his back. With five first-round picks, Ohio State (74 players selected in the first round) trails only USC (79) for the most first-round picks of any college program. Much of the on-field transformation that made Lee the No. 20 overall pick in this year’s draft can be accredited to Perry. Perry is the second former Buckeyes player taken by the Chargers, who picked defensive end Joey Bosa with the third selection overall on Thursday night. The Chargers took the 6-foot-4, 254-pound, Galena, Ohio, product with the 102nd pick in this year’s draft to address a need at linebacker after allowing 362 yards per game. Other potential draftees include QB Cardale Jones, linebacker Joshua Perry, safety Tyvis Powell and wideout Jalin Marshall. Perry played in all 15 of Ohio State’s 2014 season and helped the Buckeyes win three postseason games on their way to a national title. That’d send Bosa falling down to the latter half of the Top 10, where San Diego would gladly swoop him up and plug him in as the team’s top defensive end from the get-go. “(They’ve) really slowed down”, said Tom Telesco at a pre-draft press conference last week.
