Let’s take a take a closer look at the top 25 Big Ten players to watch this upcoming college football season: Brian Allen, OL, Michigan State Buzz: Allen was one of seven Spartans to earn all-conference honors on offense after starting 10 games at left guard. He even stepped in at center for his brother Jack for a pair of games last season. The offensive line allowed just 21 sacks in 2015 and Allen will be one of a pair of starters back in 2016. Saquon Barkley, RB, Penn State Buzz: Barkley was one of a handful of running backs in the Big Ten to rush for 1,000-or-more yards last season after the freshman tallied 1,076 yards. He became the first Penn State player to rush for more than 1,000-yards since Zach Zwinak (2012). J.T. Barrett, QB, Ohio State Buzz: The mass exodus of players from Ohio State to the NFL leaves Barrett one of the most experienced players back for the Buckeyes.
