Brothers, ex-OSU football players have $6000 in landscaping equipment stolen

A well-known Ohio State Football family is Fighting Back after a thief broke into the family business and stole thousands of dollars in landscaping equipment. “We hate thieves,” said Justin Boren, who was an offensive lineman for the Buckeyes several years ago, “it’s not the first time we have had thefts out here.” Security cameras caught a crook breaking into Justin’s family business, Grass Groomers, twice over the weekend. “He used bolt cutters to cut the fence,” said Justin. Surveillance then captured the man busting into two trailers and stealing more than $6,000 worth of weed wackers, trimmers, cutters, and yard blowers from a fenced lot at the company’s Americana Parkway offices in East Columbus. “You feel violated,” said Justin, “you feel like someone took advantage of you.” Boren, along with his brothers Jacoby and Zach, who also played football for the Buckeyes, now help run the landscaping operation with their dad. The family has posted video of the thief on social media, that shows the blue hooded suspect, wearing bright color shoes, and getting away in a white pick-up truck that has a black tailgate and dealer license plates. “Hopefully he is going to get his and what he deserves,” said Boren. Columbus Police are now searching for the suspect who was seen wearing a blue hoodie and bright colored tennis shoes, and smoking while he was committing the crimes. Anyone with information is asked to call Columbus Police at 614-645-4545.
